Departures: any dates through April, May, June, September and October
Slovenia is a fast moving country whose change from its Moscow-controlled communist past to European intergration has been startling. A country the same size as Wales contains stunning mountains and lakes, deep caves, waterfalls, appealing countryside, vineyards, lazy rivers and stunning towns and villages. With fastly developing new world wines and a cuisine that many Slovenes are rightly proud of, Slovenia has a lot more to offer than what nature so kindly provided. Ljubljana, its capital city is often described as the new "Prague" with its high class architecture, museums, operas and lively restaurant and night life.
Croatia has been on the British traveller's radar a little longer, but still retains that undiscovered charm of old Europe. The Istrian peninsula in particular retains its majestic Venetian past where 400 years of rule from across the Adriatic Sea has left an indelible mark. Delightful coastal villages and harbours, home to superb restaurants and wine bars. Stunning national parks and beaches, left just as nature intended. Visitors to this country will not be disappointed.
This tour has been split into the two countries:
Days 1 to 7 - Slovenia & Ljubljana
Take in everything that this delightful country has to offer such as the stunning capital, Ljubljana and gems such as Lake Bled, Bled Castle, Lake Bohinj, Postjana Caves, Piran, Lipica and the Triglav National Park.
Days 8 to 14- Croatia's Istrian Peninsula
Visiting the most beautiful part of Croatia, the Istria Peninsula, and take in gorgeous seaside towns and villages such as Rovinj, Pula and Porec as well as heading inland to the historical Motovun set on a stunning hill top or the beautiful archipelago of Brijuni.
